PEI Members Help NACS Show Reach Top 50 Status

TULSA, OK – The 2002 NACS Show was ranked the 49th largest tradeshow of 2002 and 8th largest in the fourth quarter of 2002 in terms of net square feet by Tradeshow Week magazine in its "Tradeshow Week 200," released this month. In 2001, the NACS Show was ranked 81. The 32-place jump in ranking was due in part to adding the Petroleum Equipment Institute to the petroleum portion of the NACS Show, resulting in significantly more petroleum-related exhibitors in the exhibit hall and an increase in attendance among PEI members and NACS members whose focus is petroleum equipment oriented. Total buyer attendance (retailers, marketers and distributors) was 7199, with PEI registrants accounting for 24% of that number.

The NACS Show's continued growth has occurred while tradeshows across the U.S. continue to experience declines.

Plans for the 2003 show are currently underway. Noted author Michael Gerber, E-Myth Revisited, and The Afterburners, a team of experienced fighter pilots, have been announced as General Session speakers for Sunday and Monday, October 12 and 13. The PEI Convention at the NACS Show 2003 will take place Oct. 11-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Online registration is available at www.pei.org/show
